Why do Born Again believers keep on confessing their sins?
Listed below are all the New Testament Scriptures containing the word 'confess', from the King James Version of the Holy Scriptures:
Matt 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
Luke 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
John 9:22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
John 12:42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
Acts 23:8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.
Acts 24:14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Rom 15:9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
Phil 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1 John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
2 John :7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
These are the only two verses in the KJV containing the word 'confession':
Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto (into) salvation.
1 Tim 6:13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession.
All the above passages of Scripture do not refer to confessing of sins nor do they refer to anyone repetitively confessing their sins, but rather, with one or two exceptions, to confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord and God.
Finally, these are the only two verses in the whole of the New Testament that refer to the confession of sins using the word 'confessing'.
Matt 3:6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
Mar 1:5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.
Now have you noticed anything specific about these two examples of people confessing their sins? If not, I will explain, these acts of confession are one off's, they are confessions of sins at the time and occasion of their baptism and no other confession thereafter is required of them, why? To find out please read my article and blog entitled The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and all will be revealed.
There is no Biblical instruction or command to repetitively confess sins after our initial confession at baptism - none.
Repetitive confession of sins is a man made religious, legalistic ritual. It is just another lie made up by men of the Christian religion to keep their followers in a state of bondage, slavery, subjection and subjugation - it's DeMoniC or in exploded view, DMC - Domination, Manipulation and Control. They accomplish this tyranny by teaching their followers that they are only forgiven until their next sin, thereby perpetuating reproach and guilt - more lies and manipulation.
This modern Pharisaical system is just another form or type of animal sacrifices only without the animals. In ancient Israel, when animals were offered as a sacrifice they only covered the recent sins of the sinner, as soon as he or she sinned again, then more animals were required as a sacrifice to cover their new or latest sins. Under this system they were never truly forgiven as we are under the once for all time sacrifice of Jesus Christ. So with repetitive confession of sins all we are doing is trampling over that precious sacrifice.
With that said, I now call on all my brothers and sisters in Christ who are held captive to this Satanic tyranny to set yourselves free and walk away from them whilst you still can. Put your trust in the Father God and Lord Jesus Christ and Them alone, walk away, be free and live free under His awesome Grace.
John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Jesus Christ is The Truth
John 8:36 "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."
